Chicago Police Pensions

Dear State of Illinois Senator Silverstein,

First of all I would like to thank you for any and all support that you have given to the workers who are eligible for a state or municipal pension in the state of Illinois. Please excuse the content of this letter if it does not apply to you personally; however there are some legislators in Springfield that it does apply to and the message is directed to these legislators.
I am writing to express my support for state and municipal public employee’s current pension benefits. I am asking you as my representative to OPPOSE any bill to cut our pension benefits, including any legislation that would offer a false “choice” of a reduced pension plan.
Fire Fighters , Police Officers, Paramedics, Teachers, Nurses, child protection workers and other public employees provide essential services to everyone throughout our state, and the modest pension they count on was part of their total compensation package they agreed to when they accepted employment.

As you know, Illinois State and municipal public pensions are modest, on average just $32,000 a year. Most public employees are not eligible for Social Security; they rely solely on their public sector pension for security in retirement. Mr. Rostenkowski, our former Chairman of The House Ways and Means Committee, tried to balance Social Security on our backs. You see, even if we worked outside our public sector jobs, prior to or during our public sector employment and accumulated anywhere from the minimum to the maximum quarters to be eligible for Social Security, Mr. Rostenkowski and his legislation reduced the amount of Social Security benefits that we were eligible for, anywhere from 65% to 90% because we are eligible for a public sector pension. This is a benefit that we paid into and earned just like everyone else who pays into Social Security and yet we are denied the benefit. How is this possible? How are we any different from anyone else that paid into Social Security?

With regards to the Chicago employees affected by this legislation, Mayor Daley and the City Council refused to let an actuary conduct any analysis of our pension fund and has not increased their contribution percentage in the last 30 years while all other municipal pension funds were being analyzed by an actuarial and corrections were made based on the actuarials study to make the fund sustainable. Couple that with the fact that they have refused to hire police officers to keep up with the attrition rate and this created a recipe for disaster. It was their decision not to hire additional police officers, so they should have been liable for making up the contributions that would have been made if replacement officers were hired when senior officers retired. They created this mess and now they want us to pay to fix it. Not happening. I am tired of our elected officials operating with impunity from their irresponsible actions and I’m not going to have any more money illegally
taken from me and my family.

What we witness on a daily basis are able bodied young men who refuse to seek gainful employment. They can sell a little dope on the side and get certified as having a learning disability because they didn’t go to school. Once they have this certification they can now collect SSI that is administered by The Social Security Administration without ever paying a single penny into the fund. They also obtain a Link card and any other freebie they can cheat the system out of. Then they can knock up 5 different Baby Mama’s who now become eligible for a Link Card, Section 8 housing, free hospital care and free education when they choose to go (careful not to jeopardize that learning disability certification). Then when the baby’s daddy gets out of jail he has 5 different Baby Mama’s households to choose from and comes and goes as he pleases. Good thing the Social Security Administration has more money for administration so these upstanding members of our society can get
everything that’s coming to them. Every form of SSI and public aid should end.
This is the irony. If you tried to diminish the benefits of these criminals or ILLIGAL ALIENS who have not earned, contributed or paid any taxes towards the benefits they are collecting, the outcry from these groups would have your party caving into them so fast it would make anyone’s head spin. This is why, for the first time in history, Social Security is paying out more than it is taking in. My question is, who do you really serve? And how long do you think, we the people, are going to put up with this. The people who pay no taxes enjoy greater representation than the people who pay taxes. When was Taxation without Representation adopted as an American policy?

Do you remember what happened when the people who ran this country did so from across the pond? I submit this to you, our legislators that you are living across the pond and governing as if you have no one to answer to because you’re so far away. I’ve got news for you; you’re not that far away and will have to answer to us, because we’re the ones who pay the bills. If we don’t get representation we will simply stop paying the bills. What if we banded together and decided that we wanted what Big Business and every welfare leach in this state has, that is, ZERO TAX LIABILITY. How would our state run? How is it that the groups with the smallest tax liability have the greatest representation? I’ll tell you how , your party takes money from big business to finance your campaigns, votes from the welfare leaches to get elected and you legislate tax increases from the hardest working segment of our society by taxing them until they can no longer afford to pay . Now you
want to take away a deferred benefit and part of our total compensation package. Be careful because you are entering a NO WAKE ZONE. How long do you think we are going to tolerate this abuse? Breaking our pension guarantee is unconstitutional. If you vote with your party in favor of reducing our pension benefits instead of with your taxpayers, you will just be taking more money away from the State Coffers because in the end The State of Illinois will be footing the bill for the historical legal fight that surely will follow and we will prevail as a precedent has already been set. This fight has already been fought and lost.

Do you have the backbone to stand up to your party and tell them I’m with the taxpayers? Do you have a conscience that will allow you to finally represent the people who pay the bills? Could you look your neighbor in the face, the Teacher, The Nurse, The Paramedic, The Fireman, The Police Officer or the city or state worker and assure them, I’ve got your back? These are questions that you have to ask yourself because eventually everyone has to answer to someone for their actions or lack thereof. How many people will you be answering to? It’s time to take away the free entitlements to balance the budget. Every form of SSI and public aid should end. The people collecting these benefits should be forced to go through the application process again and be thoroughly screened including a drug screen. If I have to pass a drug screen as conditions of my employment they should have to pass a drug screen to be able to receive my tax dollars for free. Then your budget problem is
fixed because you will cut your welfare related benefits in half and these leaches will go to another state where there is no drug screen. Stop rewarding people for breaking the law.

We have families of our own we’re trying to support. We’re asking our kids to go out and get a job to help support the family while they’re attending school. We are the slaves of the people who refuse to work, every person who is here illegally and big business. Big business participates in the biggest conspiracy ever perpetrated on the American People, bringing the American economy to its knees, no one is held accountable or goes to jail and we the taxpayers bail them out with our tax money. You’ve got to be kidding. When you back someone into a corner they either flee or fight. We’re done running away. Do the right thing for the right reason.

Daley Kisses Illegal Aliens Asses and Taxpayers foot the bill

Daley declares Chicago a safe city for Illegal Aliens.

The taxpayers are sick and tired of paying the way for every Illegal Alien and able-bodied man and woman who does not want to work. They commit 85% of the crime and are the most influential political block that no politician will ever come out against. Think about that! We pay for their medical expenses, tuition for school, room and board and their food. Yet they enjoy the greastest representation of any voting block, including the Lawful US Citizen without having the ability to vote. Mindblowing! If you were an Illegal Alien why wouldn't you want to come to Chicago? It's a free meal ticket. All the money you make here you can send back home and when your done using the United States go back to Mexico and retire like a king.
